Dear All,
This may come as a surprise to many, but Mondays for the unemployed can also be a challenge. As a result, I am considering establishing a not for profit NGO, “Mondays without Borders” (MWB). An organization that would help people with less than significant demands placed on them to navigate with positive pride the beginning of the traditional week.
For the unemployed, Mondays are an emotional challenge rather than a physical one. The day after Sunday, physically the unemployed would appear to have the advantage over the working displaced as they have the option to remain horizontal. Emotionally though, those that that eventually rise are inevitably confronted by the mirror, possibly, the cruellest boss anybody could have.
Monday, the employed consciously/unconsciously begin refilling their plundered trough while the unemployed fret about both the Pounds they have spent and even worse, gained. For the unemployed, good looks are a quantifiable source of emotional wealth and the morning mirror is once again their nemesis.
Mondays without Borders would therefore exist to provide a non mirrored environment staffed by only slightly ambitious, unemployed volunteers who could provide counselling and emotional relief from Monday late morning until Tuesday afternoon, the midweek/over- the- hump point for most clients. An onsite water-cooler would provide a mildly stimulating environment for the hatching of “Emotionally Satisfying Employment Strategies” (ESES) complimented by a”Safe Sleeping Site” (SSS) which would allow the redundant to relax afterwards without being evaluated.
Please help me, help us in moving forward this important initiative for this deceitfully challenged group. Your input is always solicited and appreciated.
Sincerely,
Mw (Borders)
